Earrings for Natalie

More jewelry components, would you like to see some bezels in the shop?

Natalie's earrings.

I made these earrings for my Natalie, who happens to be quite a good vocalist. I used one of the techniques I have been learning in the Stephanie Lee e course, Homesteader's Metalsmithing. It's the last week and I will miss enjoying my morning coffee while learning a great new technique.

My poor glass has been so neglected, it's not speaking to me anymore. So I am cleaning some mandrels tonight, and seeing if I still remember how to make a round bead.

I need a little advice. I think I have carpal tunnel in my left hand/arm, I am scheduled for a nerve conduction test in September. I have been taking Advil and that seems to decrease the tingling, it gets worse when I am at the computer, is anybody using any special wrist supports for the computer they could recommend? We'll see how the mandrel spinning goes tonight.

Natalies earings are so sweet.

I've had carpal tunnel in both hands and have had surgery on the right hand. It's pretty miserable. When it acted up worst I used wrist braces that had the metal pieces in them to keep my wrists from moving. They worked pretty well but you have to keep them on for a while (days and nights) to get the wrist to settle down. You can type in them but it's best if you keep them on all the time because you do other things that make things flair up as well. Regular old advil taken regularly will help get your inflamation down as well. I wish I had taken care of mine better as I've got permanent nerve damage in my right hand. Good luck with these and feel free to contact me if you like.

Sorry to hear about the carpal tunnel. I have it pretty bad in both hands. It flairs up from time to time where I have to wear the wrist braces all day. Wearing the braces at night has helped me the most. I have heard conflicting stories on surgery so I am not going in that direction. Good luck!

I feel your pain, no really I have the same pain. I love the computer but I am a nail technician and I make jewelry so I cannot bear to have wrist pain. I find the computer is killing my wrist and was wondering if I should get an external mouse or something like that to help with the pain. That or an ipad, convincing hubby might be difficult ;*)
Feel better,
Shannon

I'm sorry to hear the glass stopped talking to you AND that your left arm/hand is bothering you so. I have a smushy, gel filled wrist rest in front of my keyboard, but there is not a brand name on it. Sending good thoughts your way for healing.

LOVE the earrings for Natalie!

I have arthritis in right arm, but I have a mouse that you hold like a cup of tea with buttons on top. I also have a split keyboard that goes up in a v shape. Both take a bit of getting used to tho. Physio explained these are easier as normally hand positions on computer are against gravity.
Hope you feel better soon - it is so frustrating.

Ouch! You poor thing. I had carpel tunnel years ago when I sewed for this lady and had continuous repetitive motion making yards upon yards of stupid ruffles. PAINFUL! I wore a brace on my wrist day and night. I didn't go to the doctor for it but it did eventually go away. Now I make sure that I just vary my motions after a certain amount of time.

I swear, between me with menopause and you with carpel tunnel, we're falling apart!

I wanted to ask you how you enjoyed the e-course. From what you have posted I am thinking of taking it and wanted to get some feedback from someone who already has. My e-mail is formysweetdaughter@hotmail.com
Thanks
