Bead Soup Reveal!

Good morning everyone its my turn for the bead soup reveal, the top photo shows what Lisa, of Lucid Moon Studio, sent me.

I made two necklaces and I still have leftovers, the good kind. In the first necklace I wanted to show off the copper discs that Lisa etched, so I made some enamel discs in bright colors for contrast. I used all of Lisa's chain that she included, there is copper chain in the back and brass chain in the front, mixing these metals totally works. Lisa I think you should include some of your etched copper in your supply shop.
In the next necklace I started with the colors of the czech glass and turquoise stone that Lisa sent me. Turquoise and topaz are always a recurring themes in my lampwork glass beads, so of course I had a glass focal bead in my stash that worked perfectly. The Green Girl shibuichi toggle needed to be center stage, it is a wonderful warm color that works with copper or brass. I wire wrapped the stones and czech glass that Lisa gave me, and added some of my own copper chain.
I still have a beautiful Green Girl tube bead and tear drop turquoise stone, both of which I want to stand alone as pendants.
Thank you Lisa for giving me such great ingredients to work with, you knew my colors so well that I had all the ingredients on hand that I needed for this project. A big thank you to Lori for organizing this fun swap, I know it must have taken a lot of time. Please visit Lori's blog and visit the links to all of the other bead soup participants, if you are having a creative slump it is a great way to get inspired.

Wednesday beads will be late tonight (eastern time). It was all glass last week so it is all enamel this week, and I also have some enamel earrings for the jewelry shop.

I am going to be out of town for a long weekend, I am driving my 15 year old to Explo camp on the Yale campus, she will be there for three weeks!!! So I will not be able to get your orders in the mail until Tuesday, June 29th. I will still have internet access so if you want a custom order or have any questions contact me via etsy.

See you later.

Look what Lisa did!

Its Day 4 of the Bead Soup Party, I sent Lisa, of Lucid Moon Studio, some beads and components and look what she did. Lisa did an amazing job, and made my beads look so good. When I see how other jewelry artists use my beads, it helps me meet the needs of my customers.

Stay posted for some more information on a flicker group to show jewelry made with my beads. I will let you know as soon as I figure out how to do it.
Visit Lori's blog to see other designs in the Bead Soup Party. Its my turn tomorrow to do something creative with the beads Lisa sent me.

Don't forget to enter Lisa's giveaway!

Bead Soup Ingredients

If you frequent my shop you know this color combination is exactly me. Turquoise and amber colored glass paired with brass and copper chain.

Wonderful toggle clasp and bead from Green Girl Studios, another favorite of mine. Best of all, Lisa made the domed cooper disks, she etched them and applied a patina to bring out the design. Check out her etsy shop for some wonderful jewelry choices.

I love these!!!

Lori Anderson of Pretty Things is running her second Bead Soup Blog Party, and she knew what she was doing when she paired me with Lisa of Lucid Moon Studio. Lisa was one of my first customers last year, and has been so supportive of my shop. Lisa is a sweetheart who just got married last year, loves the beach, and has a sweet dog named Cooper. Lisa loves to run and compete, in fact she just participated in her first triathlon and was first in her class.

Lisa sent me my bead soup ingredients a while ago, and I have been tardy about showing them off. She sent me some wonderful pieces and I have so many choices I am going to make more than one piece of jewelry. Check out the captions under the photos for more details.

The big Bead Soup Party reveal is the week of June 19th, there will be a lot of wonderful work to look at, I will keep you posted. Thank you for the wonderful ingredients Lisa, and thank you Lori for hosting this event.

Tomorrow is Wednesday beads, I have been going through my glass bead inventory and have put together some spacer collections that are great deals. I also have plenty of enamel choices, I seem to have acquired another addiction.
